About me: Exploring Life one mile at a time

Chasing Dreams, Conquering Trails

Hello there! As you may know by now, my name is Caroline Baldwin, an ultra runner and explorer, with an undeniable zeal for the natural world and the connections we form with it and within it.

I believe the all-encompassing world holds extraordinary potential for personal growth. Through traveling and trail running, I’ve truly come to appreciate the balance between pushing physical limits all while trotting down a path of self-discovery.

My journey has always been pushed by inquisitiveness for the ways humans engage with their surroundings...how the environment shapes us and how we, in turn, have the immense potential to positively shape it.

Along the way, I’ve come to realize that the lessons I’ve learned on the trails (discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering respect for Mother Earth) mirror the values that drive my personal and professional life.
These experiences have spearheaded my desire to share the natural beauty of the world and the incredible people and cultures within it. In tandem, I aim to explore and share these experiences that will leave a lasting positive impact on the world we are so lucky to inhabit.

My nonlinear path is one of continuous learning, and I strive to share any and all insights with others. While a majority of my values and personality are shaped by running, there are two key aspects that must be touched upon more. Continue on this adventure below to learn just a bit more about me.

Critical Thinking and Research

Conducting research at Duke University lended the ability to independently overcome academic challenges. With this, changing my educational journey to an entirely foreign subject allowed for an intersection of knowledge and aptitude to think beyond the pages.

Cultural Awareness and Adaptability

Traveling throughout the world allows me to welcome a multitude of other perspectives with open arms. Each time I visit a new place, I take a second to breath in my own culture and breath out assimilation into a new one.

Resilience and Discipline

Throughout my career as an ultrarunner, I’ve had to learn extreme discipline and display utter resilience to conquer my goals. Although I mostly found these skills on the trail, I utilize them in everyday and my professional life.

Sustainability and Environmental Consciousness

As I’ve traveled throughout the world and explored countless trails, I’ve become more in-tune to my love for people and culture and the environment that encapsulates it. I firmly believe that starting from the ground-up (literally and figuratively) begins the fight for all conservation efforts.
